THQ Still Has Big Future

Video game publisher THQ has announced worse than expected results for the fiscal quarter ended June 31 last year, show a loss of not less than 55.9 million dollars (42.5 million Euros), which simply increased when compared with a loss posted in the period the same in 2010.

Sales for THQ also fell, reaching 305.4 million dollars (231.9 million Euro) and the company says that apart from the uDraw it also failed to meet expectations when it comes to children, family-oriented and casual games.

Publisher also confirmed that the South Park-powered video game from Obsidian will be launched in the third quarter of 2012, alongside a new WWE game, and the Third Satan.

There are also two unannounced games are scheduled for 2013 launch date, and before March 2014 THQ also plans to launch the homefront 2, crazy, Dark Millennium Online and the other four games without notice, including the one created by Turtle Rock.

Launch schedule reflects a focus on the core properties, but THQ has announced a major problem for companies is that it seems to be scaling back of resources can be allocated to multiple projects.

Speaking to investors, Brian Farrell said the company is actively seeking partners to bear some costs Dark Millennium Online, a MMO is a very ambitious attempt to bring the world of Warhammer 40,000 into the competitive space online.
