Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G Coming Soon to MetroPCS

It looks like MetroPCS is prepping to launch LTE 4G-enabled device is a new, Lightray 4G smartphone Samsung Galaxy S.

The people over at Pocketnow has just published an official press shots of the smartphone, so if nothing is wrong, we can expect this device MetroPCS announced soon.

Samsung Galaxy S III Coming to South Africa in Q3 2012

Although everyone is expected to launch Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy S its third generation at the end of this month, Korean companies make decisions and express surprise that the Galaxy S III will have its own launch event in the first half of this year.

Whitney Houston Has Died

Legendary singer Whitney Houston was found dead in his room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel just a few hours ago. Police have launched an investigation into the possible causes of death, but it seems overdose.

Whitney is only 48 years old and is one of the greatest voices of our time.

The singer was in town for the Grammy Awards tonight. Earlier this week, he looked out and about, and even photographed clubbing.

TMZ reports that he was found unresponsive in her hotel room. By the time they arrived at the location - just a few minutes - paramedics can no longer help him in any way.

"Our sources tell us the group members find it on the fourth floor of Whitney at the Beverly Hilton hotel room and called hotel security - who then called 911. When the paramedics arrived Houston was found unresponsive," said celebrity e-zine.

A publicist for the star has confirmed the tragic news.

"We told the police arrived to the scene within minutes and the fire was already there on an unrelated call. According to our sources, paramedics performed CPR but was unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM," TMZ further said.

In a separate post, e-zine claims to have it on good authority that the prescription drugs found in Whitney's room, so the theory holds water from accidental OD.

THQ Still Has Big Future

Apple About to Lose Its Crown in Support Quality

"The score of satisfaction of Apple fell 19 points from the first half of 2010, while Dell and HP generally remained stable over the last two years," said Vocalabs.

Less than 1% of Apple customers surveyed complained about the language skills of technician support. On the Dell camp, 8% complained about this aspect. HP is even worse, by 10%.

Another area where Apple saw fewer complaints are an additional cost of out-of-warranty technical support - "Approximately 1% of Apple customers voluntarily complaint costs in the study, compared with 6% of Dell customers and 6% HP customers," said Vocalabs.

"Despite a significant decline, Apple continues to lead in the overall quality of our survey support the technology," said Peter Leppik, CEO of Vocalabs.

"But where Apple uses advanced well in almost every measure of quality of service, now there are areas where Apple is bound to, or even behind, a competitor," said Leppik.

Vocalabs show will not be long before Apple finally lost the crown.

Statistics in this study are based on 4852 surveys completed between May 2008 and December 2011.

Huawei MediaPad Coming to AT&T on February 3, Only for Enterprise Users

Unfortunately, there's no telling exactly when AT & T and Huawei began to launch the latest version of Google's mobile operating system.

AT & T is an operator-based second to bring MediaPad Huawei. Currently, the slate is available for purchase from T-Mobile USA, as a stepping stone.

Slate is equipped with a small 7-inch IPS multi-touch screen, with support for 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and 262k colors. In fact, this will be the first 7-inch tablet to run Ice Cream Sandwich.

"We are committed to working with AT & T to create a powerful device that will give consumers the best experience on the AT & T," said Cui Jiangao, president of Huawei Devices United States.

Hardware-wise, Huawei MediaPad equipped with a 1.2 GHz core Snapdragon MSM8260 Qualcomm Adreno 220 processor and dual graphics processing unit.

In addition, the tablet pack 5.8GB of internal memory, 8GB ROM, 1GB RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the back, Huawei MediaPad average quality sports slate-5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080) video recording, while in front there is a 1.3 megapixel photo snapper secondary for video chatting.

Other highlights of the tablet include: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, SRS sound enhancement, high speed microUSB to USB-on-the-go support, HDMI port and GPS with A-GPS.

Google TV Gets Android 3.2

Google TV has been updated to the new Android 3.2

Google TV is hanging in there. Google is trying to make the most of it, the platform does not take anything by storm, but the company has managed to convince the producers again to build the devices on it.

Existing owners will at least be happy that they've got a pretty big update, they now run the Google Android-based TV 3.2.

Google made the switch to Android 3.0 Honeycomb last fall in what has been labeled as a great Google TV 2.0 update, though not officially.

Updates coming up with a major change from the UI, new features, new content, third-party applications on the Android Market, a lot of things missing.

That did not stop the Logitech, which has gotten a little burned with Google TV, of making the Revue.

Most recently, the Android 3.2 update comes with some highlights. Google Chrome browser has been updated to a newer version.

Google TV now also supports hardware acceleration, so games and applications should get a boost in performance. HTTP Live Streaming is supported in the latest update.

With Android 3.2 from the road, the next big leap is to Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0. But do not get your hopes up for it too soon, it will likely be several months, if not more, before landing.

The emphasis for now is on improving the existing platform and put out more applications that work on Google TV. Another focus for Google should be in getting more partners to make devices that run the software.

Google boasts that more manufacturers are now working for Google TV-powered TV, but do not expect a flood of devices on the market in the near future. Motorola's acquisition could be a wildcard, as it is a major manufacturer set-top box.
